Recovering from a failed uninstallation or removal attempt

Removing Lab Manager failed

Cannot uninstall Lab Manager
-
An error can occur during the uninstall of Lab Manager if you cancel the process after the database has been removed
-
You receive the following error:
Error Number: 0x80040E4D
Description: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'sa'.
Setup will now terminate.
Solution
To complete the removal of Lab Manager:

Click Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

Click on VMware Lab Manager in the list and choose Remove or Uninstall VMware Lab Manager

Select Remove Program Files only during the uninstall process.

After the uninstall process is complete, uninstall Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (VLM) from Add/Remove Programs.

Open the Windows Registry Editor.

Browse to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc.\VMware Lab Manager

Delete the entire VMware Lab Manager key.
