ESX Server 2.0.2 Patch ESX-1000271:No lspci Entries for Devices Assigned to VMkernel

Details

If you try to use the lspci command in the service console to list devices information, the output lists only the information for PCI devices dedicated to the service console or shared between the service console and VMkernel. Devices allocated specifically to the VMkernel are not displayed in the lspci output.

Solution

The devices allocated specifically to VMkernel show up correctly in the management interface (Startup Profile > System Configuration) or when the vmkpcidivy -i command is run in the service console.
