Locating VMware Workstation Serial Number

There are three ways to look up the serial number for a VMware Workstation installation.
Solution
Order Confirmation Email
The Workstation serial number is listed in the order confirmation email you have received for your Workstation purchase.
VMware Account
Workstation serial numbers that have been registered with an account on the VMware website can be located in the account profile. Click here to find a serial number associated with your VMware account.
Product Installation
Windows hosts
The Workstation serial number can be found in the Windows registry. Click Start > Run. Type regedit and press Enter to open the Windows registry editor
Find the Workstation serial number in My Computer > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > VMware, Inc. > VMware Workstation > License.ws.5.0 > Serial.
Linux hosts
Find the Workstation serial number in the .vmware file in the your home directory.
