Downloading and Installing VMware Fusion

Symptoms

  • You cannot download VMware Fusion  
  • Download stops intermittently or does not complete
  • The Fusion installer .DMG does not mount or install
  • Your serial number is not accepted and you receive this error:

Invalid Serial Number

Resolution

To download, install, and verify Fusion:
  1. Identify the latest version of VMware Fusion from the VMware Fusion Download page .
  2. Click Download Now.
  3. Enter your e-mail address and password. If you do not have a profile, register a new account.

    Note: You must purchase a Fusion serial number to complete installation of Fusion.

  4. Review the End User License Agreement and click Yes.
  5. From the Download Page, click the Binary (.dmg) link to download VMware Fusion.
  6. If you are unable to complete the file download:

    1. Delete the cache in the web browser.
    2. Disable any pop-up blocker in the web browser.
    3. Try downloading from a different web browser application.
    4. Disable local firewall software.
    5. Download the installer from a different computer or network.

  7. Attempt to install the downloaded file. If the problem persists, check the MD5 sum value on the download file. For more information, see Verifying Integrity of Downloads from VMware (1537) .
