Replacing Existing VMDK by Using FileOperation.replace Returns an Error

I am trying to programmatically replace a VMDK with another VMDK file in the flat file format. I used the FileOperation from the VI SDK and received an error.

Solution

You cannot use VirtualDeviceConfigSpecFileOperation.replace to replace VMDK files on disk. This operation is only supported for floppy images.
