NFS mounts are restricted to eight by default in ESX 3.5.x
Details
This article details configuring more than eight NFS mounts on my ESX Server.
Specifically, the article discusses:
Configuring NFS TCP and/or NFS HEAP settings
Identifying the settings the TcpIpHeapSize or TcpIpHeapMax must have
Solution
Default configuration allows for only eight NFS mounts per ESX Server.
To mount more than eight NFS mounts on an ESX Server host:
Start the VI Client.
Select the host from the inventory panel and click
Advanced Settings
on the
Configuration
tab.
In the Advanced Settings dialog box, select
NFS
and set
NFS.MaxVolumes
to 32.
Select
Net
and set
Net.TcplpHeapSize
to 30.
Select
Net
and set
Net.TcpIpHeapMax
to 120.
Reboot the ESX Server host.
Note
: These settings enable up to 32 mounts on the ESX host.
