Cannot Power On Virtual Machines After Upgrading to ESX Server 3.0

I have upgraded to ESX Server 3.0. When I try to power on a virtual machine, the following errors occur:
Virtual Machine Message: msg.ethernet.configFailed: Deprecated ethernet0.devName found. Please use ethernet0.networkName insteadFailed to configure ethernet0

What should I do?

Solution

To fix this problem, edit your .vmx configuration files, deleting all lines that start with the word Ethernet.
