Disabling the QLogic PCI Device in BIOS Results in a PSOD

I've disabled the QLogic PCI module in the BIOS by disabling the interrupt setting. During installation, I see a PSOD. What can I do about it?

Solution

This problem is specific to the HP blade (it was observed on HP BL30P G1) because ESX Server does not recognize when the QLogic PCI device is disabled in the BIOS because it does not properly respect the PCI command bits used by HP BIOS to disable QLogic. A corrupt text region results in a PSOD.

To work around this issue, disable the boot from SAN feature by disabling the host adapter and the bootable setting inside the QLogic BIOS. Do not disable the PCI device in the system BIOS.
