My Relayout Virtual Machine upgrade operation failed. What went wrong?
Solution
If a virtual machine's .vmx file has log-file entries containing absolute path names that point to log files in directories that are different from the one in which the .vmx file resides, then the Relayout Virtual Machine upgrade operation on that virtual machine fails.
To work around this issue, log in to the service console, edit the .vmx file, and fix the log-file entry.
The recommended best practice is to keep log files in the same directory as the .vmx file for a virtual machine.
