Effective BusLogic Qdepth is Limited to One on Windows 2000 SP3, 2003, or XP

Details

When I run I/O meter with a queue depth of 128 on a raw disk, I can't get more than one active I/O at a time. Why?

Solution

Effective BusLogic queue depth is limited to one on Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, Windows 2003 Standard and Enterprise Editions, or Windows XP. To avoid this problem, do not use BusLogic virtual adapters in virtual machines running those versions of the Windows operating system.

For locations on LSI Logic's Web site for downloading drivers, see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1306.

For another workaround, see knowledge base article 1890 at http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1890.
