Only One vmhba for Each Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Controller

When you connect a multi-port SAS HBA, for example a dual-port Dell SAS 5/E HBA, to a SAS disk array, for example MD3000, you see only one vmhba corresponding to one physical HBA where you expect two vmhbas. For example, you might might see only one vmhba when you run esxcfg-mpath -a .
Solution
No workaround is needed. In contrast to FC HBAs, SAS HBAs are not multi-function HBAs. You always see only one IOC (input/output controller) per HBA and therefore only one vmhba per physical HBA, even when the HBA has multiple ports.
