If a Server Has Intel Dual-Core Processors (Tigerton), the VI Client Overreports the Number of Available Licenses
Details
On Tigerton-based systems, the VI Client reports an overestimated number of licenses as "available." This might lead you to assign licenses to more ESX Server CPUs than the number to which you are entitled. When this issue is resolved in a future patch, the misassigned licenses can cause denial of service on some ESX Server hosts.
Solution
The workaround is to manually ensure that the number of licensed ESX Server CPUs does not exceed the number of licenses that you purchased.
