VCB Backups Fail When Transport Mode Is Set to nbdssl

When you run VMware Consolidated Backup along with any VMware-provided integration module, the backups might fail if you set the TRANSPORT_MODE option in the config.js file to nbdssl. You will see the following error message:
Illegal value for config option TRANSPORT_MODE: nbdssl.

Solution

To fix this problem, follow these steps:
 
  1. On the VCB proxy, locate the utils.js file in the Consolidated Backup installation directory. The default location of the file is:
    C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Consolidated Backup Framework\generic
  2. Replace the utils.js file with the following:
