Remote CLI 1.1 Released with ESX Server 3i Version 3.5 is Incompatible with VI Perl 1.0

The VI Perl Toolkit version 1.1, which ships with the Remote CLI package, is incompatible with scripts that were created to work with the VI Perl Toolkit verion 1.0 on both Windows and Linux machines. The remote CLI installer removes the older version of the VI Perl Toolkit.
Existing scripts that use the VI Perl Toolkit 1.0 will no longer work with VMware Infrastructure 3 (ESX Server 3.0/VirtualCenter2.0) after Remote CLI installation because the VI Perl version included with ESX Server 3i version 3.5 works only with VMware Infrastructure 3.5 (ESX Server 3.5 and VirtualCenter 2.5) .
Solution
VMware recommends installing the Remote CLI package and VI Perl Toolkit 1.0 on different hosts. A future release of the Remote CLI package will fix this incompatibility.
