Running "esxcfg-mpath -l" Might Report Incorrect Number of LUN Paths

Details

ESX Server 3.5 supports a maximum of 1024 LUN paths. If a system has more than 1024 LUN paths, only the first 1024 paths will be scanned. On a system where 1024 paths have been scanned, running esxcfg-mpath -l might sometimes report less than 1024 paths. If no processor type SCSI devices are found during the scan and all the 1024 paths are LUN paths, then this problem does not occur.

Solution

There is no workaround.
