Virtual Machines Might Lose Network Connectivity When Moved to a New Port Group

Details

If you move virtual machines from an existing port group to a new port group, they might lose network connectivity. This also might occur with virtual machines if you remove their existing port group and recreate it.

Solution

Use VI Client to reset the virtual network adapter:

   1. Select the virtual machine.
   2. Choose Edit Settings > Network Adapter.
   3. Deselect Connect. Click OK.
   4. Choose Edit Settings > Network Adapter.
   5. Select Connect. Click OK.
