Cannot install LM Tools to a template that belongs to a domain
Details
Lab Manager prevents me from installing LM Tools to a template in a domain.
Solution
If you want the guest operating system of a virtual machine deployed from a template to belong to a domain, install LM Tools first and then use Sysprep in the template so that virtual machines join the domain when deployed.
In this procedure, refer to the VMware Lab Manager User's Guide for details on how to create a custom ISO, create a template, and install LM Tools. This procedure does not work for virtual machines deployed with Lab Manager fencing.
To run a virtual machine in a domain
Create a custom ISO that allows LM Tools to use Sysprep.
Create a template that does not reside in a domain.
Lab Manager adds all virtual machines derived from this template to the domain when you deploy them in the Workspace page of the Lab Manager Web console.
